Dinosaur of the Day
A different dinosaur each day to color in, with how big it was, what it ate, when it lived and a fun fact.
Example
CARNOTAURUS
Meat-eater · Late Cretaceous, about 70 million years ago
Length: about 8 m. Weight: about 1,500 kg.
Fun fact: Its name means meat-eating bull, because of the two small horns above its eyes.
Color me in, then invent a nickname for it.
One a day from the bank — this is a sample.
How to play
- Color in the dinosaur, then read how big it was, what it ate and when it lived.
How it works
A bank of 17 dinosaurs and prehistoric reptiles, each a coloring outline made from public-domain (CC0) silhouettes on PhyloPic (phylopic.org), with size, diet, when it lived and a fun fact. Each kid works through the bank in their own shuffled order.
What you can set
- Appropriateness dial (kindergarten → adult) — tune it per card. Picks the age band: little kids get a school-bus size comparison, olders get length, weight, diet and period.
Age dial (1–20): 1–6: a school-bus size comparison and a fun fact. 7–9 add length, weight, diet and when it lived.
